Positive Choices Scale Resource Pack

Children who have had the opportunity to reflect on their choices and the chance to improve or monitor their thoughts and manage their behaviour are able to say to themselves, “Stop! I’d better think about this first.”
It’s important that children know and practice what they have control over and what they do not and this skill in turn empowers them to make the right choices with what they can control.
This pack includes 12 Green choice velcro tabs which children can move to their scale chart when they are displaying great behaviour that demonstrates being a role model or behaviour that is one step lower as good behaviour. The scale chart reinforces to your child that they are on the right track in the ‘green’ area and reinforces their ability to control their choices.
This pack also includes 12 Red choice velcro tabs with less desirable behaviour where there is an opportunity to learn from or improve using the child’s behaviour strategies. It helps map out when the child needs support from an adult to regulate their bodies and change their choices.
