Personal Privacy Pack
Does your children have a good understanding of personal privacy and how to keep their bodies safe?
Can they identify both private behaviour and public behaviours?
Knowing the difference between public and private behaviours is an essential skill for your child to learn in order to keep safe and participate in the community.
A quick and simple rule to help your child learn this is:
“Private behaviours involve private body parts and can only be done in a private place.”
This new resource pack includes a A5 binded booklet that helps identify when someone requires privacy like when showering or getting changed. It also highlights giving others privacy too!
These resources can also be used to help a child understand where private parts, places and behaviours come together.
Also included is a velcro private vs public activity chart where kids can identify and talk about things that are okay to do around others and things that are best to be done in private!
It includes PECS pictures of everyday life activities and are used to reinforce the differences between public and private places. Ask your child where they think certain behaviours should happen and use photos to redirect them to a private place when needed.
As an added bonus, it includes EIGHT ‘Privacy Please!’ Cards that can be used when your child needs to be alone for various reasons!
With these resources, you can support your child in understanding personal privacy, respecting boundaries, and making appropriate choices to ensure their safety and well-being.
